Invert

Invert is an experimental variable typeface with interpolation between shapes and counter shapes. It consists of four styles: Black and White roman styles are complemented by the italics.

Black and White styles are the complete opposite of each other. The Black style is based on a stencil construction, and the White is created from the counter forms of the Black. The styles can work separately but the magic happens in the movement between them.

The need for smooth interpolation greatly influences the design of the original masters. The straight geometric shapes provide better control, while the stencilled Black style helps to avoid sloppy shapes.
